A Sell-Out Success: Propeller Club Liverpool Annual Lunch 2026

On Friday 20 March, members and guests of Propeller Club Liverpool gathered for what proved to be a truly outstanding Annual Lunch at The Athenaeum.
With a sell-out crowd in attendance, the event captured everything that makes our Club so special: strong fellowship, a shared passion for maritime, and the unique ability to bring people together across all corners of the industry.
From the moment guests arrived for the welcome reception, the tone was set. The hospitality was exceptional, matched only by the quality of the food and the warmth of the surroundings. The Athenaeum once again proved to be the perfect setting—steeped in history, yet alive with the energy of a modern maritime community.
A particular highlight of the afternoon was the guest presentation delivered by Peter Aylott of the UK Chamber of Shipping. His address struck a compelling balance between realism and optimism.
He spoke candidly about the complexity of the times we are navigating—geopolitical uncertainty, economic pressures, and the evolving demands on global shipping. Yet, at the heart of his message was a powerful reminder: maritime cities like Liverpool have always endured.
Through cycles of disruption and transformation, great port cities do not stand still—they adapt, innovate, and persevere. It is this resilience, deeply embedded in Liverpool’s maritime DNA, that continues to position it as a vital hub in the global shipping network.
The lunch was not only a celebration of the year past but a reaffirmation of the role our community plays in shaping the future. The conversations, connections, and shared perspectives around the room reflected a sector that, while facing challenges, remains forward-looking and united.
Our sincere thanks go to everyone who attended and contributed to making the event such a success, and to our supporters whose continued backing enables the Club to thrive.
If this year’s Annual Lunch demonstrated anything, it is that the spirit of maritime Liverpool is as strong as ever. Thank you to all who attended, and especially to Isle of Man Ship Registry for their most generous support.
