Propeller Club Liverpool has been supporting an academic study into maritime safety management. Craig Laverick, as part of his doctoral research at the University of Central Lancashire, is looking into the enforcement of the ISM Code by ship operating companies.
He is looking for volunteers to answer a short questionnaire to aid the research, as he critically analyses the Code and examines to what extent it is being implemented by ship operating companies and individual seafarers. Looking at the extent to which this is affecting the enhancement of maritime safety culture, and the overall number of maritime fatalities.
Craig is keen to bring more participants into the study, and we would urge you to assist. Lives can be saved, and shipping can be made safer and more efficient if we can find the answers needed and a route to improvement. So have your say and get involved. The questionnaire comprises 16 questions and will take around 10 minutes to complete.
