We have been talking to our corporate supporters, checking in on them in these terrible times and finding out how business is going. So, hear what Mark Whitehead – Snr Commercial & Client Manager at Bibby Marine Services has to say.
Brief history of the company.
Bibby has been a family run business based in Liverpool since 1807, Bibby Marine Services (my part of the business) started in 2014 and we own and operate SOV walk to work vessels servicing O&G and renewables markets.
How is business at the moment?
Fortunately, we have been able to keep working with minimum impact, due to our pre-planning we have been able to keep all of our vessels COVID-19 free, and we have implemented a robust testing process.
Have there been any benefits to come from the current crisis?
Some of our barges (Bibby Marine) have picked up work relating to the fight of COVID-19 in Asia. We have been able to utilise VC etc to reduce travelling for meetings which has seen a cost and environmental impact.
What have you learned about business during COVID-19?
How resourceful we can be when we have to. We can really reduce our carbon impact by just reducing the amount of physical meeting we have.
What is the best thing about doing business in Liverpool?
The people, the location and history.
What are you most looking forward to when life edges back to normal?
Going for a beer 😊
