Great news from our good friends at Bibby Marine. Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania has launched the “Bibby Wavemaster 1” service operations vessel (SOV), which will be deployed in the North Sea to support offshore wind construction and operation and maintenance.
Sea trials will start shortly before delivery to Bibby Marine Services in August, Damen said.
The 90-metre SOV has been specifically built for the transfer and accommodation of offshore personnel and has a motion compensated access system to provide walk-to-work capabilities.
The walk-to-work gangway has six landings, meaning that technicians can directly access the gangway from the warehouse areas with a stepless approach, the company said.
The vessel also has a helideck, daughter craft and crew transfer vessel landings and can remain at sea for up to one month, Damen added.
