More insight from our wonderful corporate supporters – this time we hear from our President, and Marketing Manager at Brookes Bell, Adam Whittle.
Brief history of the company.
Brookes Bell is a leading multi-disciplinary technical and scientific consultancy serving the marine and energy sectors. Founded in Liverpool in 1903, we now also operate in London, Glasgow, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore and enjoy a reputation for being the ‘go-to’ firm for casualty investigation, forensic analysis, technical dispute resolution and expert witness work.
How is business at the moment?
Even though Shanghai and Hong Kong are the only offices currently able to open, I am pleased to say that all our experts are busy and continue to provide our clients with the excellent levels of service they are used to.
Have there been any benefits to come from the current crisis?
I think every company will have seen an improvement in the utilisation of technology. Ironically, while being at home, people are probably talking to colleagues and clients more now than before. Wearing my ‘Propeller Club’ hat, #smoko has been a big positive during the crisis.
What have you learned about business during COVID-19?
While business travel is essential for large parts of our business, moving forward I think we will review the ‘necessity’ of travel in the future.
What is the best thing about doing business in Liverpool?
While I can’t call myself a scouser, I am a very close neighbour and very biased but I think Liverpool is like no other city (some people will think that’s a good thing !). It has a special vibe, is steeped in history and every scouser has a story about shipping or the sea which they will tell you…if you want them to or not !
What are you most looking forward to when life edges back to normal?
Getting back to the office, a proper pint and of course, First Thursday !
Thank you Adam – and be sure to check out www.brookesbell.com to learn more about the wonderful work the company does.
